Tau Kappa Epsilon – ISU
Ames, Iowa
DESCRIPTION
In 2014 Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) embarked on a journey led by former TKE fraternity member (current alumni) Roger Underwood focused on improvements necessary to make Greek Living accommodations at the existing TKE house more attractive through flexible study/sleep room types. TKE hired Accord to help navigate them through the process of determining what could be done, the appearance, and cost. After a successful fundraising period from 2015 to 2018, TKE commissioned Accord to develop the design further in 2019. Improvements to the student study/sleep rooms along with increased and enhanced social gathering spaces will all be part of the transformation of this house. This will involved a completely new addition on the east (rear) side of the house and infrastructure improvements throughout. In addition to this, the existing exterior will receive improvements, including new eyebrow dormers, a new porch, and additional brick work.
