When Regional Health Services of Howard County recognized the need for a large scale renovation and addition to the meet the evolving needs of their 30,000 customers, they knew they could trust the design services provided by Accord Architecture. Accord has been providing comprehensive design services for RHSHC since 2003 and completed a facilities master plan in 2010. As a result of this master planning, RHSHC designed a 41,000 square-foot renovation and expansion valued at $14.3 million. The project consisted of 22,000 square feet of renovated space including modernized operating rooms, lab, obstetrics, same day surgery, and nurse stations. The remaining 19,000 SF of new construction comprised of acute care (new patient wing), physical therapy, emergency and main lobby / entrance areas. The project scope also included all new parking and helipad as well as new MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) and security infrastructure.  In 2019, Accord has been hired for additional master planning services related to the clinic.
