North Iowa Regional Commerce Center

Mason City, Iowa

Accord was hired in 2011 for the interior renovation of all levels of this circa 1930 building in downtown Mason City.  This building will house the area chamber, the county-wide economic development organization, the regional economic development Marketing Alliance, and the North Iowa Builders Exchange, but will also welcome the co-location of partners with complimentary missions (regional entities, Main  Street Mason City, Mason City Youth Task Force, etc.).  Although no front facade work was included in the scope of this project, the rear façade was improved with new windows, new EIFS skin to unify the two types of façades at the rear into one continuous appearance and to improve the life of the façade.  Accord began design in February of 2011, sent the project out for bids in July of 2011 and the building was completed in 2012.  This project was funded through a grant from I-Jobs with NIACC serving as the Fiscal Agent and the Mason City Chamber of Commerce as the Sub Recipient.

“Accord representatives are good listeners and good thinkers.  They have done a good job of listening to our vision and desired functionality and incorporating those ideas into the plan with patience and creativity.  I have found them to be experienced problem-solvers and especially adept at working with the constraints (and surprises!) inherent in renovating an old building."
